Our History

Cyber Smoke was founded in 2011 by six industry and Government professionals for the sole purpose of collaborating on cyber security initiatives at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Since 2011, this after-hours networking group has grown from the 6 original founders to well over 850 Industry and Government professionals representing all levels, including CIOs, CISOs, CEOs, VPs, Program Managers and other IT professionals. For the past 4 years, the Cyber Smoke Networking Event has been held every other month at the Morton’s Restaurant in Washington, DC. These events are sponsored by various companies, are open to all, and are free to attend.
